Last Tuesday, November 18th, Gene Oishi launched his novel Fox Drum Bebop with a modest celebration in Baltimore. Fifty people attended the event at the Mt. Washington Conference Center, hosted by Madeleine Mysko–a writer and friend of Oishi. The Ivy Bookshop provided a table for signings and sold out their copies of Fox Drum Bebop!

After a warm introduction from Madeline Mysko, Gene Oishi read from his novel. The evening ended with a lively Q&A session with the author. All in all, it was an exciting introduction to Fox Drum Bebop and a glimpse of what is to come through its promotion!

“The most consistent intelligent wide-ranging committed press I know – Kaya is an example of how to turn ‘small’ books into literary arrows that shoot straight and true into the heart of our culture and (of course) ourselves.”

— Junot Díaz
