GET HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE WITH INDEPENDENT LITERARY PUBLISHING

Learn the ins-and-outs of independent publishing this summer through a hands-on internship with Kaya Press!

Kaya Press, an independent literary publisher affiliated with USC and dedicated to promoting independent literary publishing in the Los Angeles area is offering summer internships based at our Los Angeles office.

You’ll have the opportunity to work directly with Kaya’s publisher and managing editor in a supportive environment that nurtures individual growth and encourages creativity. There are many avenues you can explore with Kaya’s support. Whether you’re interested in design, the publishing process, or behind-the-scenes business procedures, you’ll have the chance to get a closer look at the publishing industry and the nonprofit sector with an internship at Kaya Press.

The ideal candidate would have experience working in an office environment and interest in publishing or non-profit organizations. Familiarity with website entry using WordPress, experience with social media, interest in fundraising, and in the use of new technologies for publishing, a plus.

Kaya Press is an independent not-for-profit publisher of new and innovative fiction, poetry, critical essays, art, and culture, and the recovery of important and overlooked works from the Pacific Rim and the API diasporas.
