Q.M. Zhang (Kimberly Chang) is a writer, teacher, editor, and founder of MemoryWorks, a creative research and writing practice for tracing our histories and writing our stories in the face of historical erasures and intergenerational silences.

About the Workshop: “Within our diverse histories and lineages, there are shared silences around war, colonization, revolution, migration, and racism that make this kind of workshop space urgent and necessary. This workshop will offer creative tools and practices for re-searching and writing into intergenerational silences and historical erasures that are all too familiar within API diasporic families and communities around the world. In this workshop, we will turn over soil, gather fragments and traces we find there, and use these as source materials for our experiments with hybrid forms of writing.
