Come hang out, make things, get hands-on publishing experience, and meet some amazing literary artists at our booth at the LA Times Festival of Books! OTHER BOOKS/Seite Books will be curating an amazing selection of comics, zines, and literature, plus we’ll be featuring books from Kaya Press, Kundiman, and other LA indie presses.

We’ll have publishing-and-bookmaking activities and fun writing prompts for authors of all ages–you’ll even get to use our typewriter!

The Lit Lounge will also be home to the USC PhD In Creative Writing and Literature. Stop by to find out more about this incredible program and their publications (Gold Line Press and Ricochet Editions). Catch us at booth 377 by the Poetry Stage!

Saturday April 21
11 am – 12 pm: Women Who Submit Hour: Come hang out with Lauren Eggert-Crowe and learn all about Women Who Submit and how to join the party and get support submitting work.

1 – 2 pm: POC Adoptee Reading and Workshop: Join author Julayne Elle, Henry Gee, Yun-Sook Kim Navarre, and Jennifer Varenchik Tohono O’Odham as they read work inspired by adoption.

3 – 4:30 pm: Usc Cwlitphd Reading: A slew of PhD students have new books out, come hear them read!

4:30 – 6 pm: Smoking Lit Lounge Happy Hour: Close out the festival with drinks and snacks and sales at the Smoking Hot Lit Lounge.

Sunday April 22
12 – 1 pm: UCLA Asian American Studies Department Creative Writing Classes share their work!

1 – 2 pm: Join Sesshu Foster (Swirling Alhambra) for a postcard poetry writing and reading session.

3 – 4:30 pm: Community Literature Initiative and World Stage Press Hour: Join writers and poets from these two amazing LA literary organizations as they read and discuss the state of community publishing and African American literature.
