We’re simply heartbroken by the devastation of recent wildfires. Kaya Press was originally planning a Lunar New Year gathering, but we have decided to turn it into a fundraiser for community who have been affected by the wildfires, including fellow local small press Hesse Press (run by Clare Kelly), and the Altadena Children’s Book Fund—to replace the libraries of children who lost their homes. We also have been sharing resources for donations and support on our Instagram stories and are offering to replenish libraries for those in need of books, including replacement copies of Kaya titles.
Join us on Saturday Feb. 1 for an amazing Lunar New Year gathering featuring hot pot and other treats by chef and forthcoming Kaya author Erin O’Brien (https://www.neogeostudio.com/geoartist), plus a preview of our upcoming Club Kaya event with artist-in-residence Alan Nakagawa.
Ticket sales available now! We have a goal of raising $5000+ to help! Come fill up these red envelopes with us.
